There is exactly one manufacturer of the writing implements¹⁾ (just “pens”), mostly because the market is tiny and so there’s no real competition. Each costs about on the order of about a thousand dollars, again mostly because it’s speciality-design. The writing implements are a lot like ball point pens with subtle differences – the most notable difference is their tips are ringed by tiny barbs that scratch your skin so the tincture can get into surface-level skin cells, designed in a way so the tiny flakes of skin and potential traces of blood will not clog the pen or disrupt the direction it’s writing in.
