Politics: Nyarai doesn't like commenting on politics, although her facial expressions will often give her opinions away anyway. She has a strong belief in the Martian 'government', although she isn't a toady for them, and thinks Mars needs to learn to defend itself from future aggressors. She believes most people on Mars are adults who can make their own political decisions that don't need to agree with hers - at least as long as they stay opinions. For personal reasons, she's distrustful of anything involving monetary gain, but as long as finances are broken down into other values can usually agree with an economic perspective. If you held a gun to her head, she would self-describe as progressive-socialist. (Just kidding. If you held a gun to her head, she would kill you.)
Education: Medicine and sorcery.
Dreams: Nyarai wanted to be a journalist, but her life experience disabused her of this in her early teens, and drove her to want to make a practical difference in people's lives. She's put her all into it - actually successfully becoming a sorcerer doesn't seem to have stopped her putting her all into it, either.
Hobbies: If Nyarai has hobbies, it's unknown to her friends (like Mateo). She seems to have gotten completely subsumed by sorcery, both in theory and application. She consistently scores as one of the most performant sorcerers; if they had a hierarchy amongst themselves, she would be their leader.

Appearance: Nyarai is a dark-skinned, lean woman, seeming almost too thin to be able to carve anything out of herself for spell-casting at all, let alone out of either arm. There's a lighter-skinned scar over her right brow, overall about the size of a fingernail, but bent into a faint crescent shape. She tends to wear black slacks, but also a somewhat clunky gold necklace made of elements that look like gilded pieces of thin branches, albeit without any leaves or buds. She's barefoot quite often.

Notes: Nyarai doesn't talk about her scar, except to say with a somewhat calm inflection that it isn't from a rape (which is brought up as a frequent assumption). She won't clarify further, but if one hears enough other things about her life, it's clear it's the event that drove her from pursuing journalism to pursuing sorcery, and that it involved some kind of tangle with criminals that she might not necessarily have survived if not for some kind of lucky circumstance.
