Euryalia lies in the north-western “Sahara”; most of the Sahara desert area was rehabilitated by use of magic. It’s a constitutional monarchy, but with several free economic zones / charter cities / Hansas.

One of the Hansas is Neiphil, which has a mostly peaceful recurring interest in political independence (that hasn’t panned out for the last twenty years they’ve been trying to get it to happen). Some Neiphilians use violence to make their point, which has been happening about once every three to five years.
